About Us
“In Your Heart” works with The Pekingese Charitable Foundation which was founded in 1998. The goal of the organization is to provide rescue services for homeless Pekingese dogs throughout the United States, and to foster health research on topics relevant to the Pekingese.
The workings of the foundation are overseen by a Board of Directors and by two Advisory Committees made up of dedicated Pekingese owners whose responsibility is to work towards the overall goals of the foundation. The Pekingese Charitable Foundation raises funds for much-needed health research, as well as funds to help combat the enormous problem of homelessness among Pekingese dogs.
My Current Foster Pekingese: Tootsie!
Tootsie is an exceptional dog. She is very sweet and loving once she gets to know you. Her smile can brighten any room, and her playfulness just makes you want to forget about your household chores and have some fun! Although she is small in size, she believes she is a protector of her home. I personally feel 10 times safer with her in my home since she will let me know when someone is approaching the house. She is a great furry friend, and an amazing companion.
She adapted quickly to being around my other animals – two other pekingese and a cat. Although at first she is nervous around big dogs, once meeting them on her own terms she learns to love them.
I personally feel that Tootsie would really be best in a one animal home, even though she does well with others.
Without a doubt she is one of the best dogs I have even been blessed to spend time with. Although I will be sad to see her go, seeing her go to a deserving and loving home will be very rewarding. So if you are looking for a furry companion with endless love to give Tootsie is perfect for you!
Details: Tootsie is a 6 year old female, current on her shots, housetrained and a very good on a leash.
